Check out this site--note, this post has been revised, because the original, from the title on down, didn't do it justice. The site larrymartingallery.com showcases the work of the illustrator and designer Larry Martin. I am someone who doesn't like the gimmicky uses of web technologies such as flash, but I'm all for them when they actually communicate something other than "look at the new software I bought." I use flash in the intro to my business site, although I should probably set it so it can be skipped. Since commercials and flashes are part of what I do, it made sense to me to use flash. I'm not a big fan of things that spin on pages you're trying to read. It always feels like someone has brought a yo-yo into my library carrel. But the use of flash to simulate a gallery is perfect for an illustrator, and you can actually goof around with the site and discover stuff.
