Wow, you're in Montreal. What a thoughtful and interesting little essay. We were there maybe 15 years ago, and really you did capture something about that. So interesting, the shift you note!

I'm glad it wasn't just us in teh early 90s, especially since it was subtle and suggested our own provincialism.
